World Oldest Nun Turns 113
A Long Island woman believed to be the world’s oldest living nun celebrated her 113th birthday Sunday.
Sister Francis Dominici Piscatella, born in 1913, joined the Sisters of Saint Dominic at 17 and served the Church for more than 90 years. Despite losing part of her arm as a child, she went on to teach for 52 years at Molloy College.
She marked the milestone with family and received a proclamation from Pope Leo, the 10th pope of her lifetime. Piscatella credits her longevity to faith, family, and good fortune.
