Good afternoon, Hilltoppers!

Expect partly cloudy skies today with temperatures warming up to a high near 76F.  There is a chance for a very spotty shower later today, though we will most likely stay dry.  Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 5-10 mph, becoming 10-15 mph this afternoon.  Heading into tonight, there are slightly better chances of showers and thunderstorms (about 40%), with temperatures only cooling into the low 60s.

Our best chance for rain this week, associated with a cold front, arrives on Wednesday, with a threat of severe weather.  Right now, the overall threat level is about a 2 out of 5 (Slight Risk) issued by the SPC (Storm Prediction Center), mainly for damaging winds.  An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out; however, those details will become clearer over the coming days, so stay tuned and have a way to receive NOAA weather alerts!

Behind the front, high temperatures will be cooler, with highs in the low 50s on Thursday. We will likely remain dry throughout the remainder of the week, with temperatures warming into the 70s once again by Saturday.
